HARRIERS LEAVE
Championships In Scotland (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand representative team of nine men and “a New’ Zealand team” of six women runners recognised only officially as members of .the Pioneer Ladies club—left Auckland by air last night for the international cross - country championships in Scotland.
The men’s team was confident in its ability to win the teams event.
“The team is very solid and strong,’’ the manager. Mr L. Bradshaw, of Otago, said. "All members have run world-class times on the track and yet they are basically cross-country runners." The runners will face tough competition next Sunday when they compete in the French championships before travelling to England for further competition as preparation and acclimatisation for the inter-i national event in three weeks’ time.
