Communist Meeting
BOLOGNA (Italy), Feb. 7. This ancient Italian city, now the citadel of Italian communism, plays host tomorrow to the largest international Communist gathering since the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia last August.
The occasion is the weeklong twelfth National Congress of the Italian Communist Party, which, with about 1,600,000 members, is the biggest and most influential in the Western world.
With the exception of Albania and China, all the world's Communist countries are sending delegations—including the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia.
Altogether more than 50 foreign delegations will take part.
The huge, circular Bologna sports palace will be crammed with about 4000 people, including 1000 official delegates, more than 300 journalists, and 10 separate television crews.
