N.Z. LAMB IN U.K.

Resistance By Buyers

Buyer resistance is developing to prices for New Zealand lamb in Britain because of the delays in discharging ships at the Port of London, and buyers are seeking alternatives to this country’s, lamb. “The discharge of New Zealand lambs within the Port of London continues to be disrupted by strikes and disputes," says a message from the London office of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, sent on Thursday, which was read to the annual meeting of the company yesterday by the chairman, Mr L. D. Cotterill. “However, with some diversions to other ports a slight improvement in the situation has been seen, although it is still far from satisfactory.

“In th emeantime demand generally on all markets continues to suffer as buyers are now strongly resisting present prices and are seeking alternatives wherever possible.”
