Naturally a strong accounting staff will handle all routine, and E.D.P. techniques very much streamline the accountancy function. Although the man appointed must be a qualified accountant (and preferably C.M.A.N.Z.) experience in an industrial environment will be of prime importance. Age is anticipated to be not less than 35 years, and the man sought will currently be earning not less than $5500. It is managerial and administrative experience which is sought and for this the company is, naturally, prepared to pay substantially above the market rate for an accountant. It is affiliated with the Victoria Institute of Colleges, which is concerned with its tertiary activities (diploma courses); in its technician and trade activities it is associated with the Education Department of Victoria and the Victorian Apprenticeship Commission. DUTIES: The Director is responsible to the Council for administrative control of the College, and the development of technician, diploma and post diploma courses. It is expected that within a few years degree courses will be introduced. His responsibilities will include the supervision of an extensive rebuilding programme. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold a degree, preferably a higher degree, in Engineering, Science or other appropriate branch of learning.
