Appeal Fails
. Mr Justice Wilson yesterday dismissed an appeal by a horse trainer against having to pay training fees of $644 to another trainer. ] Amos Gordon Grant (Mr B. ] Lovell) appealed against » Magistrate’s decision awarding training fees to Gary Des-I mond Lee (Mr R. K. Godfrey) in respect of the horse Royal Knight. Evidence had been given that Grant had been in partnership with Jack James (Mr B/D. Kinley) and that James had engaged Lee to train. Royal Knight. The Magistrate had held that Lee had been engaged without the knowledge of Grant. Lee had claimed training! fees of $644 from the partnership. James had paid but Grant had appealed. The Magistrate had found in favour of Lee on the ground that James as a partner had authority to employ * trailer. His Honour said it would be quite wrong of him to substitute another view to that taken by the Magistrate.
