Prices Steadier, But Firm Trend Continues

Although buyers still dominated, and the market moved fractionally higher, prices were steadier and the mostly small movements more evenly balanced on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Trading, however, was very active, and leaders were firm.

Few movements stood out. Pye Electronics reacted to the announcement of the profit recovery by putting on 2c, to 55c. C. F. M. again sold lower, dropping 1c to 205 c.

New Zealand Steel continues to lose ground: the price fell Ic, to 133 c, and the rights sold 2c lower at 32c. L. W. R. recovered 5c in late trading, to come back to 190 c.

Although A. B. Consolidated traded at 45c, there is a firm trend in the share, and turnovers are heavy. B.H.P. lost more ground to sell 10c down, at 1970 c.
