SPINSTERS’ TAX?

(N.Z.F.A.-Reuler—Copvripht) AUBUSSON (France), January 31.

Bachelors in the small town of Aubusson in central France, have written to General de Gaulle proposing a special tax for spinsters.

“Our girls just do not want to marry, our men. They prefer the civil servants of the big towns., Even the loafers, as long as they, are city loafers,” they wrote. “We therefore suggest a special tax for spinsters—that will make them take a husband.”
