Four Doctors In The House
Three brothers all graduated as Bachelors of Medicine at Sydney University recently—making a total of four doctors in their family. The brothers are Peter 3aska, aged 22, his twin, Paul, md John, aged 24. “We have asked an awful nt of people, and none can remember this having happened before,” said Paul, in he quadrangle after the
graduation ceremony, reports the "Sydney Morning 1 Herald.” * i f A university spokesman < said: “The university has 1 been established since about 1 1850, and something similar may have happened in the 1 1800 s. Only a major piece i of research would uncover ; this.” i The Registrar (Mr H. G. i McCredie) wak a little more bold in his predictions. “I I think you could really say it’s < so close to unique that it I doesn’t realty matter,” he 1 said. i
The three brothers join a fourth, Dr Caska—their father, Dr Zenko Joseph Caska, a general practitioner for 15 years at Umina, near Woy Woy. He migrated to Australia from West Germany in 1949, and had to complete a threeyear refresher course at Sydney University before being allowed to practise. The four doctors might well be joined by another. Michael Caska, aged 17, will sit for the Higher School Certificate this year, and also intends to study medicine.
