Minor Fires

A fire in a wall at 20 Mersey Street about 1.35 p.m. yesterday caused only minor damage. One machine from headquarters and one from St Albans attended. Ah oven fire at 239 Lyttelton Street at 2.2 p.m. caused no other damage to property One machine from Sydenham attended. The brigade was called at 2.38 p.m. to a grass fire in a right-of-way to 35 Marine Parade. The fire did no property damage. Two machines from New Brighton and one from Headquarters answered the call. A fire in a small heap of building timber stacked at Smith’s Bakery, Hopkins Street, about 4.50 p.m. yesterday caused no other damage to property. One machine from Headquarters and one from Woolston answered the call.
