SUSPENDED

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. With approximately four furlongs and a half to run in the Domain Plate at Waikouaiti yesterday, Hour of Truth (P. J. Silver) was observed to check and lose approximately two lengths. Celebrate (A. K. Robinson), which was raced alongside the rails alongside Hour Of Truth, was observed to check and lose about six lengths. G. R. Gallery, the rider of Summerleaze, was charged with allowing his mount to shift ground and cause interference to Hour of Truth and Celebrate. After hearing evidence from the stipendiary stewards and the riders concerned, and a statement from Gullery, the committee upheld the charge and suspended Gullery from race riding until 5 p.m. on January 4. In coming to this decision the committee took into consideration the fact that Summerleaze was hanging at this point and that Gullery was not making the necessary efforts to keep his mount straight.
