Change Favoured

The Automobile Association (Canterbury) is in favour of the present limited speed zone on Yaldhurst Road being changed to a 40 m.p.h. limit between Racecourse Road and Fovant Street, and the 30 m.p.h. limit between Fovant Street and Russley Road being raised to 40 m.p.h., the Waimairi County Council was told last evening. Both Waimairi and the Paparua County Council recently asked the Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon) to restrict the speed limit, and the Minister said he would seek the association’s views. After it had been suggested that the whole length should be restricted to 30 m.p.h., the council referred the question back to its traffic© committee.
