Levy Is Less This Year

(From Out Own Reporter) WELLINGTON. The New Zealand Racing Conference will levy racing clubs for $140,000 this year, in addition 153,472 will be raised for the estimated cost of the training track subsidy scheme. The levy is down $27,500 on last year’s. “This means clubs have to find 16 per cent less than last time," said the conference president (Mr R. A. Whyte) yesterday. Mr Whyte paid a tribute to the conference secretary, Mr A. R. Algie, for his working in saving clubs so much money.
