DIAMOND SAW
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, July 10. A massive diamond gang saw went into use yesterday at Brightwater, 13 miles from Nelson. The saw, the only one of its type exported from Japan, is at the new plant of the Canterbury Stone Company. Capable of using up to 50 blades, each 10ft long and charged with diamond, the saw can tackle a block of stone 10ft by 10ft and at one cut produce 49 perfectlyfaced marble slabs.
