N.Z., West Indies Again To Share Cricket Tour
(N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Cop® right;
LONDON.
New Zealand and the West Indies will again share a cricket tour of England, in 1973. The two countries are also touring England next year.
An increased programme of tours from 1973 onwards was confirmed by the annual meeting of the international Cricket Conference yesterday. England, which is already due to tour India and Pakistan in 1971-72, has agreed to return there in 1977-78. This is four years earlier than might have been expected if the pattern hitherto of 10yearly visits for a full-length tour had been maintained. England will tour the West Indies in 1973-74—again two
years sooner than was at one time thought likely. Australia, which has already agreed to visit Pakistan in 1969-70, is negotiating for the trip to include India. India and Pakistan are resuming test matches later this year for the first time since 1960-61. They will make reciprocal visits, Pakistan first going to India. These series mean that for the first time all seven testplaying countries will be active during 1968-69. England is touring South Africa and the West Indies are visiting Australia and New Zealand. The list of future tours agreed by the I.C.C. is:— 1969—West Indies to Pakistan. 1969/70 —Australia to Pakistan (negotiating to take in In* dia also). 1971—Pakistan to West Indies (provisional). 1973 New Zealand and West Indies to England. 1973/74—M.C.C. to West Indies 1974 India and Pakistan to England.
1974/75—M.C.C. to Australia and New Zealand. 1975 South Africa to England. 1976 West Indies to England. 1976/77—M.C.C. to South Africa. 1977 Australia to England. 1977/78—M.C.C. to India and Pakistan.
