School House Destroyed
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, July 9. The school house at French Pass, in the Marlborough Sounds, was destroyed by fire early this morning. The school teacher, Mr W. E. Gear, bis wife and infant son, managed to escape but all their personal possessions were lost. The cause of the fire is not known. Neighbours sheltered the Gear family and helped fight the fire, which could have spread to the adjacent school. Paint on one of the school’s' walls was blistered.
