Entertainers Shot Dead

(N.Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) SAIGON, July 6. Two American entertainers were shot dead and two others —including a woman singer—injured in an ambush 18 miles from Saigon last night A United States Mission spokesman said today that the Viet Cong mounted the ambush in which an American Army sergeant was also injured. The the manager of the four entertainers, Mr Jack Selvesen from Hollywood, told reporters that South Vietnamese troops could have been responsible. He said one survivor recognised one weapon fired at them as an automatic rifle used by South Vietnamese and American troops. Another survivor said there was a South Vietnamese Army camp nearby.
