ANOTHER SUBSIDY

Old People's Home

An additional subsidy of $19,200 has been granted by the Government to the Methodist Central Mission towards the cost of its old people’s home in Papanui. Announcing this, the superintendent of the mission (the Rev. W. E. Falkingham) said that, together with an earlier'subsidy, the total Government subsidy for the project was $192,000. Tenders have been called for the 40-bed home, which will be built in Harewood Road on the same 13-acre site as the present Methodist children’s home. The contract will be announced on July 11.
