30-MILE PRO. RACE

Riding off the 3min mark, K. R. Jeffery won the Christchurch professional cycling clubs* 30mile championship, held at Halswell on Saturday, in conjunction with the Crofts Memorial Challenge Cup.

Fastest time went to C. D. Yaxley, who finished second over-all in Ihr 19min 45.65ec. The race was marred by a spectacular crash on one of the tight bends of the five-mile circuit. The two riders affected were B. W. Yaxley (scratch) and T. C. Gibbs (IJmin). Results were:

K. Jeffery, 1:23:16.6. 1: C. Yaxley, 1:19:45.6, 2; M. Cameron, 1:21:15.8, 3. Senior fastest time: C. Yaxley, 1:19:45.6. Junior fastest time: M. Cameron. 1:21:15.8.
