E. G. F. Smith and Mrs Smith won the Canterbury indoor bowls husband-and-wlfe pairs championship for the second year in succession yesterday. They beat I. Brown and Mrs Brown, 12-11, after a tremendous tussle in the final. Going into the last end, the Smiths were one down, but Brown attempted to take his opponents* shot bowl out and went two down to lose the match by one point. Results:— Quarter-finals. —E. G. F.
