Wonderbar Avondale Pick

"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Blue Winter and Wonderbar in the T.A.B. double, and Mike Haynes and Sunseeker in minor events look the best prospects at Avondale today. Blue Winter, Mike Haynes and Sunseeker will be trying for doubles at the meeting. Wonderbar will be attempting to improve on his close second to Ruakiwi Lass last Saturday. Blue Winter won the Rawson Memorial so easily on the first day, as to be a hot favourite for the Churchill Handicap. Only Corbassiere was able to make him work hard for victory and he seems his toughest opponent this time. In the Rawson Memorial, the same distance as the Churchill, Blue Winter scored by two lengths. This time he has 71b more, and he meets Corbassiere 51b worse. Success for Corbassiere Would be well received He last won four starts back, at Paeroa, and meantime has been second at Ellerslie, third at Te Awamutu, and second last Saturday. Few horses have been as consistent. Wohderbar looked to have the President’s Handicap won with 50 yards to go last Saturday, until Ruakiwi Lass came on the scene. That was over six furlongs. this time he has a furlong extra to go and that should suit him. The track will be heavy. Selections:— 11.1 S a.m,—Windsor Hurdles:
