LECTURER IN CLASSICS Applicants should have a good Honours Degree in Classics, and should either have completed a course of post-graduate study in Classics or have had several years' experience of teaching classics (whether in a school or at a university). The prime requirement is that they should have a true sense of vocation to teaching, and should be prepared to play their part in any or all of the department’s three fields of activity, namely Latin. Greek, and Ancient History (August 2.) LECTURER IN ENGLISH (MEDIEVAL STUDIES) Applicants should have an Honours Degree in English and a Higher Degree, and should have special interests and qualifications in Medieval studies. LECTURER IN ENGLISH 'MODERN LINGUISTICS) Applicants should have an Honours Degree in English and a Higher Degree, or some equivalent qualifications, and should have a special interest in modern linguistics. The appointee, in each of the English positions, will be required to take part in the lecturing and tutorial programme for under-graduate students and in the supervision of post-gradu-ate work. A large amount of specialisation in teaching and research will be permitted and encouraged. (August 2.) SENIOR TUTOR IN LAW Applicants must hold a University degree in Law. Either the holding of an Honours de gree or higher degree or the oossession of some experience in a law office would be an advantage.
