DYNAMICS OF FAITH

Sermons For Methodists

Sermons on the dynamics of faith, designed to have a special appeal to those who find the Christian faith difficult to accept, will be given at the Sunday evening services at the Christchurch Methodist Central Mission this month. The associate minister of the mission (the Rev. A. R. Bowden) said yesterday that with modern revolutionary theological thinking there was a need for people to be able to understand the basis of faith as it was found in the Gospels. The series will begin tomorrow evening with a sermon by Mr Bowden entitled “Faith and Logic.” The next Sunday the superintendent of the mission (the Rev. W. E. Falklngham) will preach on “Christ's Faith and Ours," and on July 21, “Faith and Things Unseen” will be discussed by Mr N. E. Smith. On July 28 the monthly service for members of the Refiua Maori Boys’ Hostel will be held and the series will end with a talk on “The Faith That Works.” After each address there will be opportunities for questions and discussion.
