Roller Canary Show
More than 100 entries from Auckland to Dunedin are being exhibited at the New Zealand Boiler Canary Club's show, which opened in Christchurch yesterday. The show, the first devoted entirely to the roller Canary to be held in the South Island, will continue today at St Enoch’s Sunday School, New Brighton. Two roller canary shows have been held In the North Island.
Only the eock birds, which are yellow, green or varle. gated, are entered In the show, and they are judged on their song only. The judges, Mr A. N. Gee, of Christchurch, and Mr L. Blsmark, ef Levin, agreed that all entries were of a high standard.
Results were:— Champions.—Best roller, best champion, and best old bird. J. S. Strong (Christchurch): best young Bird. S. J. Kelly (Christchurch): best bird any age. J. H. van Uitert (Taurange).
Novice.—Best bird and pest old bird. B. P. Finnerty (Christchurch); best young bird, A. Kill (Tlmaru): best bird any age, E. and H. For, tune (Christchurch): best teem of three, G. J. Kelly (Christ, church).
