W.E.A. Classes Popular

An increased Interest seemed to be taken in adult education classes generally, the Workers’ Educational Association secretary (Miss D. Chapman) said this week.

Several W.E.A. classes began after Easter and others began this week, and in most cases enrolments were high, Miss Chapman said. The most surprising response was to a basic course on psychology which started last evening. It was planned to limit it to 40, but it opened with 60 present. There are 41 subjects in part one of the programme, including mathematics, writing, public speaking, music, horticulture, photography and languages. Among the new courses are “Problems of the Criminal,” “The Influence of Modernism,” “Planning the Environments,” and “Communications and Elections.” Later courses may include astronavigation, drama, wood sculpture, and interior decoration.
