Police Seeking Assistance The police ask the occupants of two cars parked opposite 39 Springfield Road on Saturday night to get in: touch with the Criminal In-1 vestigation Branch. Detective Senior-Sergeant E. T. Mitten said yesterday that detectives believed the occupants of the cars could assist inquiries into three fires at 39 Springfield Road. Two of the three occupants of a flat at 39 Springfield Road were overcome by smoke in a fire in rolls of carpet and underfelt in the hall at 11.47 p.m. on Saturday. Both required hospital treatment. The first fire in the flat occurred in a drawer under a cylinder cupboard in the lounge at 8.58 p.m. on Friday. At 12.11 a.m. on Saturday there was a fire in a clothes cupboard, sft from the seat of the first fire. Firemen were called to all the fires.
