Events

An interesting programme of events centred on an indoor pool has been arranged for the fifth Christchurch International Boat and Outdoor Exhibition opening tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Canterbury Court. The exhibition will be open each week-day from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. until May 5. Wind for the P Class yachts and model yachts sailed on the show pool during the exhibition will be created by a large com-

mercial fan. Radio-control-led power boats displayed by the model engineering club will also prove a popular attraction for young and old. A greasy pole competition between local surf clubs for a prize of $5O will provide entertainment on the lighter side. Ten members will compete each evening and the finals will be held; on May 4. ! In addition to the pool, there will be a display area inside Canterbury Court of 19,000 square feet. This willj be devoted to exhibits of interest to all. |
