INTER-CLUB TENNIS

Entry Up By Four Clubs Twelve teams—four more than last year—have entered for the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s winter interclub competition. Beginning on May 5, the competition will be played fortnightly on Sundays and will continue into July. Matches will be on the hard courts at Wilding Park. Teams of two men and two women will play a men's doubles, a women’s doubles and four mixed doubles. The teams are: Avonside I and 11, Beckenham I and 11, Shirley I and 11, Linwood Avenue, Spreydon, Edgeware. Opawa, Riccarton Domain and Redcliffs. Of last year’s eight teams, Opawa II and North Linwood have dropped out. The six new entrants are Shirley, 11, Beckenham 11, Linwood Avenue, Spreydon, Riccarton Domain and Redcliffs.
