Thefts From Schools

Two more burglaries in Christchurch schools were reported to the police on Monday. A speaker, a microphone and a slide projector were taken at the week-end from the Casebrook Primary School, and 30c was taken from the Bishopdale School. Three bedrooms of the Esplanade Hotel, New Brighton, were broken into on Sunday morning and money and goods worth $370 were taken. The occupant of one of the three rooms was asleep in it at the time. Burglars on Friday broke into a house at Kainga and removed a woman’s cycle, a transistor radio, a razor, clothing and bedclothes of a total value of $l2l. A surf board, valued at $75, was stolen from a Durham Street house on Friday night. Cigarettes and money of a total value of $95 were taken from a Feny Road shop on Sunday. Cigarettes valued at later recovered.
