Might Jumps Well

“The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Might gave an impressive display of jumping at Awapuni yesterday morning. He took four hurdles so well that it Is difficult to imagine defeat for him in the Dalefield Hack Hurdles at the Carterton meeting on Anzac Day. After his race at Tauherenikau, Might will travel to Wellington, where he will join the rest of E. Temperton’s team for the Blenheim-Nelson circuit. Most of them galloped yesterday.

Might took four hurdles in his stride with his race rider, R. A. Jenkins, up. He has done everything right, and should be the best of good things on Thursday.

Tainoch and Grappa jumped six hurdles, with Tainoch the more impressive of the two. He is unlikely to race at Waverley. Instead he will go either to Tauherenikau or Waipukurau. Grappa is in the hurdles at Waverley.

Royal Admiral and Prince d’Amour jumped four hurdles well in preparation for Waverley. They are well seasoned, and Prince d'Amour has shown above average promise in schooling.

On the plough, Janess and Tuskar Rock completed seven furlongs in Imin 34sec, the last three furlongs in 42 l-ssec. On the course proper, Grand Coeur and Gold Mint took lmin 34sec for seven furlongs, and kept together over the last three furlongs in 42sec. It will surprise if they fail to show up at Blenheim and Nelson.

Wilma Rudolph took 40 l-ssec for three furlongs. She failed at Otaki, but struck the sticky ground near the rails. She should do better at Blenheim. Albaneta, which will race in the sprint at Waverley tomorrow, looked impressive over three furlongs in 38|sec. On the plough, Sail Away went better than usual to shade Gayemana at the end of a mile in lmin 49 3-ssec, the last three furlongs in 41 sec. Sail Away is readv for a good race in the Besley Memorial at Waverley
