W.M.C. LAYS RUMOUR

Find Reports In London (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 22. Western Mining Corporation would have announced if it had made any significant nickel finds outside the Kambalda area, the managing director (Mr W. Morgan) said today. He was commenting on reports from London, suggesting that rumours of a possible discovery of nickel about 150 miles north of Kambalda by W.M.C. had been behind Friday’s price rises in London. Mr Morgan said W.M.C. was looking for nickel in a good many areas outside Kambalda and was constantly taking samples. However, the group was not drilling anywhere except in the Kambalda region. The next scheduled report on progress in the Kambalda region is the usual quarterly progress report which is due in about two or three weeks.
