The market was encouraged by news that North Vietnam is considering New Delhi as a possible preliminary peace talk site. Brokers also noted that institutional investors were buying as weaknesses developed. Blue chips were generally fractions higher while selected issues in the glamour sector —the computer and other high-technology issues—posted gains. Golds were higher.
