The Associate Professor will take some responsibility for under-graduate and postgraduate courses in one or more general areas of experimental psychology, and will directly supervise research in such areas of experimental psychology as may be decided upon from time to time. Current experimental work in the Department of Psychology covers the topics of learning, motivation, perception, and cognitive processes.

(b) LECTURER IN PSYCHOLOGY. Preference will be given to applicants with special qualifications in the field of Physiological Psychology: but applicants with qualifications in other fields will also be considered. A Lecturer in Physiological Psychology will be expected to initiate courses and supervise research at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The Department of Psychology provides undergraduate courses for Pass and Honours students in Arts and Science, post-gradu-ate training at the Master’s and Doctor's levels, and a postgraduate diploma course in clinical psychology. Areas of active research in the department at present include: (i) Experimental Psychology: learning; motivation: perception: cognitive processes, <ii) Differential Psychology: psychometrics; abnormal psychology; social psychology. APPLICATIONS are invited for the position of Curator of the Power Gallery of Contemporary Art. University of Sydney. The Curator will be in charge of the Gallery and responsible to the Director of the Power Institute of Fine Arts. His work will include the planning, display and circulation of art exhibitions and the development of the art educational activities of the Gallery. He will be expected to undertake some teaching and to make periodic visits abroad to make purchases for the Gallery. The Director of the Power Institute may also make some purchases for the Gallery. Applicants should possess a University degree and curatorial experience in a recognised gallery. The applicant will be expected to be an organic chemist with research experience in the pharmacology of synaptic transmission in the mamalian central nervous system. Current research is concerned with the Isolation and identification of synaptic transmitters. The salary and range of a Fellow are determined within the limits sAust64oo—B74o per annum. The appointment is made for an initial period of five vears; thereafter a Fellow may be reappointed until retiring age. A Fellow is entitled to one year’s study leave on full salary, plus a contribution towards travel and other expenses, in every seven years of service.

Superannuation is on the F.S.S.U. pattern, with supplementary benefits. Reasonable travel expenses are paid and assistance with housing is provided.
