Girl Gives Kidney
fN.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) EXETER (England), April 6.
A 15-year-old girl, watching a heart transplant television programme, told her father that if she were dying she would willingly give any part of her body to save a life. Yesterday—two weeks later —this turned out to be Elizabeth Costigan’s last wish. She died in hospital after a road accident, thrown from the pillion seat of a motorcycle. Soon afterwards one of her kidneys was transplanted into a 35-year-old man being kept alive by an artificial kidney machine. Doctors said today his condition was satisfactory.
