More Meals Served

Meals provided by the North Canterbury Red Cross Good Neighbour Service had increased by 4368 to 54,772, in the last year, Mrs P. C. Weir, deputy chairman of the service committee reports. With the aid of meals prepared at Princess Margaret, Burwood, and Christchurch hospitals, and with the Red Cross kitchen working to full capacity, it had been possible to maintain the service in an exceptionally busy year, she said.

About 390 Christmas dinners were prepared and delivered from the centre kitchen. Mrs Weir expressed the committee's appreciation for donations of produce and crockery, and thanked the many who prepared vegetables, cooked, and delivered meals.
