Actors Equity Appeal

Sir,—The Acton Equity Appeal, begun a few days before Christmas, has achieved its first objective with the provision of a return fare to the United States for Mr Anthony Abeson, a member of the recently closed Canterbury Theatre Company. This is therefore a suitable time to thank both you for your help in bringing our cause before the people of Canterbury, and also the same people of Canterbury for their generous response which has made possible our achievements so far. Equity still hopes to be able to relieve the genuine hardship caused other members of the company by the umeasonal closure and will gratefully acknowledge any contributions sent to Actors Equity Appeal, P.O. Box 1181, Christchurch.—Yours, etc., BERNARD KEARNS. Chairman, Appeal Joint Committee. January 17, 1968.
