Antiques

Sir, —I thank Mr R. G. Bell for his answer; it is good to hear there are still genuine dealers in our city. Indeed, my unfortunate experience was completely due to ignorance and inexperience and relying on this dealer’s honesty, especially as I did question him about the new parts.

Although they were sold to me as “antiques,” I perhaps would not have minded so much if they had been original old-fashioned colonial rockers, but not just converted chairs. As this has been my first purchase In this field, it seems a pity the inexperienced are the victims of that kind of dealer. I have learned the hard way. However costly my disappointing deal has been, my aim now is just to warn future buyers.—Yours, etc., DIDDLED. November 15, 1967.
