Not Attack Victim

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Nov. 3. A man who had claimed he was beaten and robbed by two men on October 31, appeared before Mr T. B. Mooney, S.M., today, charged with giving false information to the police. He is Raymond Brian Pateman, aged 21, an unemployed truck driver, of Auckland. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded on 8100 bail until next Friday for further reports. Sergeant I. Paterson, prosecuting, said last Tuesday Pateman was found lying unconscious on State Highway 1, just south of Hamilton. He told the police that he had been assaulted and robbed of his bag, wallet and $5O.
