Western beat Teachers College outright by an innings and four runs on the first day of the second round of the women’s cricket competitions on Saturday. Batting first. Teachers College made 38 and in reply Western made 65 for two wckets declared. Teachers College fared even worse in its second innings, being bundled out for 23. D. Mcßae was the outstanding batsman of the day, scoring 71 not out before she ran out of partners after opening the St Albans innings. Scores were: Western 65 for two wickets declared (M. McGrimty 24 not out. K. Marsh 18) beat Teachers College 38 (J. Olsen 3/11, P. Smith 4/17) outright by an innings and four runs. St Albans I 161 <D. Mcßae 71 not out, K. Wilkinson 41; P. Quickenden 5/43, M. Taylor 2/56) met Hagley 18/1. Mai Moa 74 (B. Harris 16, N. White 15, S. Thompson 15: P. Blackler 5/18, L. Ashly 3/17. A Skerton 2/15) met St Albans II 107/2 (C. Dallard 28).
