Hospital Inquiry

(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 5. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) has appointed a retired Auckland Magistrate, Mr L. G. H. Sinclair, to inquire into the question of the amalgamation of the four Taranaki hospital boards. He has advised the four board chairmen and the leader of an anti-amalga-mation group. Mr A. Smith, of Hawera, by letter. that the inquiry will ascertain whether amal-

gamation would be in the interests of patients and of public welfare. It was pointed out that the petitioners would appreciate an inquiry by a person who had no direct association with hospital administration and whose position, training and experience would enable him to take an impartial and objective view. It was considered that Mr Sinclair would make an ideal person for such a task.
