Arrests In Bangkok

I (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) BANGKOK, Sept. 1. Thai police claimed today they had smashed the Central Committee of the Thai Communist Party in dawn raids in Bangkok, the Associated Press reported. They arrested 29 suspected Communists. General Prasert Ruchirawong, the Director-General of Police, told reporters five of | them were top men controlling a growing Communist terrorist movement which has been spreading through Thailand. ‘‘We have taken out the roots,” General Prasert said. “We have weakened Communist operations in Thailand and have got the commanders of the terrorist movement"
