Table Tennis Win To Dallington

The all-round solidity of Dallington enabled it to beat Riccarton, 7-5, in an absorbing struggle in the fourteenth round of the A grade winter inter-club table tennis competition last evening. J. Armstrong (Rlccarton). the No. 1-ranked player in Canter bury, conceded a game each to D. J. Kalin and B. T. Edwards, although he won all three of his singles matches. Led by R. Mitchell and Ling Nan Ming, Avonside was far too powerful for the highly-rated Wallabies Red and won easily, 10-2. Wallabies Red began the season well but have been disappointing in recent weeks. Wallabies Green had its first win for nine rounds when it beat Avonside IL 6-3. K. J. Cassidy (Wallabies Green) won all his matches in straight games. Hoon Hay continued its winning way when it beat Selwyn 11, 10-2. Hoon Hay now seems assured of winning the inter-club competition for this season. Points after 14 rounds are: Hoon Hay 26, Selwyn I 22, Riccarton 18, Wallabies Red and Dallington 17, Avonside I 16, Linwood I 14, Wallabies Green 6. Selwyn II 4, Avonside II 0. Results:
