After Ministers answered nineteen questions by members yesterday morning Parliament gave a first reading to the Clean Air Bill, a private member’s measure introduced by Mr B. P. MacDonnell (Lab., Dunedin Central). The War Pensions Amendment Bill, the Social Security Amendment Bill and the Decimal Currency Amendment Bill were passed through all remaining stages. The House rose at 4.7 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on June 20.
