Order Closing Hotel

An order closing the Central Hotel, at the corner of Colombo and Lichfield streets, until November 30, 1967, was made by a special meeting of the Canterbury Licensing Committee this week. The order was made under the Sale of Liquor Act, 1962, on an application by the owner of the licensed premises, Edward Ethelbert McCullough, and with the consent of other Interested parties. On Monday it was announced that the hotel had closed because it was impossible to trade profitably.
