CHARITABLE BEQUESTS

Bequests to charities and a church amounting to £2OOO are contained in two wills, probate of which were granted in the Supreme Court recently. Bequests, each of £5OO, were made to the Canterbury and West Coast branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Association, the Presbyterian Social Service Association and the board of governors of Windsor House, under the will of Isabella Little, a spinster, formerly of Omihi, but latterly of Christchurch who died in Christchurch on May 9. The will of Robert Overland Judd, of Waddington, a retired farmer, who died at Christchurch on May 21, contained a bequest of £5OO to the churchwardens of the Anglican Church at Sheffield. He expressed the wish that if possible the bequest should be used to instal a new organ in the church.
