FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A cold front is moving slowly northwards over northern New Zealand; a cold southerly airstream prevails over the rest of the country. Forecast: Canterbury, Marlborough .and Nelson.—Light easterly winds in central Marlborough and Nelson; elsewhere south-westerlies, fresh in coastal places but light elsewhere; cold with further showers in eastern areas and about the ranges, with some hail at times; some fair intervals in other places.
