Filly Wins Sprint
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.)' ADELAIDE. The New Zealand-bred filly, Farmer’s Daughter, winner of the Oaks at Flemington and Randwick, won the Brooklyn Handicap at Cheltenham on Saturday when having her first start since the A.J.C. classic on March 29. She finished with a great burst on the outside to get the verdict in the last stride from High Echo and Devil May Care, both smart five-furlong reformers. Farmer’s Daughter ran the journey in the good time, of 58}sec. Farmer’s Daughter was backed during the week for the rich Stradbroke Handicap to be run in Brisbane next month.
