Table Tennis Success

The Canterbury table tennis team maintained its unbeaten record for the season when it beat North Otago by 50 matches to 13 at Oamaru on Saturday.

Although the standard of play was the equal of that at previous tournaments, the strong Canterbury players showed better technique, faster stroke play, and good courtcraft. B Roskilley (Canterbury) had two lucky wins against G. Wilson and J. Smyth in a marathon game. He beat Wilson, 21-12, 18-21, 22-20, and Smyth, 21-17, 18-21, 25-23. The two Canterbury cricket

representatives Misses J. Stead and A. Malins, were most impressive in the women’s section. Miss Stead was unbeaten. The Canterbury junior team, led by T. Fraser, also won easily. D. Blackwell, P.
