Players (N.Z. Pres, Association) WELLINGTON. The New Zealand squash rackets selectors stuck to experienced players when they named their four-man team for the world series In Australia in August. It is:—C. Waugh (Henderson), five times national champion; T. Johnston (Palmerston North), the 1968 champion; P. Dibley (Remuera), the 1965 and 1986 North Island champion; and D. Burmeister (Palmerston North), the 1966 New Zealand representative. The New Zealand teams for the Australian championships and Inter-state series in July were also announced last evening. Women.—Mrs M. Waugh (Henderson), Mrs P. Taylor (Henderson), Miss C. Fleming (Eden-Epsom), Mrs J. Megg (Henderson). Men.—Burmeister, G. A. Davidson (Ashburton), J. Walker (Hamilton), J. Stevens (Remuera). Juniors,—Women: Miss J. Hislop (Palmerston North), Miss S. Reed (Henderson). Men: D. Cotter (Remuera). After nearly a year’s absence from major tournaments, Waugh made a powerful come-back to win the North Island championships at Wellington over the week-end. He beat Johnston. ~8-10, 9-3, 9- 9-5, in the final. Waugh’s wife, Meggan, won the women's title, beating Mrs Taylor, last year’s winner, S-4. 10- 6-9, 9-2.
