To Wrestle Tourists

The Crichton Cobbers Club will be the venue of the wrestling match between Canterbury and the touring Queensland side on Saturday. The visiting party of three is a very strong one, comprising B. Breddon, the Australian senior feather-weight champion, R. Franklin, the junior champion in the same weight, and the Queensland light-weight title-holder, D. Bowers. To oppose them, the Canterbury selectors (Messrs W. H. Straw, G. H. Hobson and I. B. Roberts) have chosen P. G.- Moore, J. Beattie, R. Genet, J. Lightfoot, W. A. Pickering and G. Wilson. As well as the main matchings, there will be at least six other bouts, all under the new rules which should provide faster and better wrestling.
