Bystanders Did Little

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MIAMI, May 6. Twenty people were standing nearby when Herbert Stephens, a 58-year-old bakery deliveryman was shot dead in his truck on Wednesday. Police said only one woman would tell them what she saw. Detective - Sergeant Garland Watkins said Stephens apparently lay bleeding on the floor for more than 10 minutes before any of the bystanders called an ambulance. He said an anonymous woman witness told police she saw at least one teen-age boy run from the truck.
